Must Read !!!!! My child age 6 has been going to Smilie's Pediatric Dentistry since 04/08/24 which was her first appointment with them. I thought Dr Ladue was great! & i loved him and his staff. Dr Ladue would say at appointments that he could see some cavities are beginning to form and recommend Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) to prevent cavities from spreading, but he said nothing to be concerned or worried about her teeth look great. From there she would see him every 6 months and never been told that cavities need to be filled or were worsening. Fast forward to 11/26/25 I was Adv that my daughter needed 6 crowns and maybe some teeth pulled and that they all had to be done at once at trinity health hospital where they would put her to sleep, me in disbelief broke down into tears completely blindsided I didn’t know her teeth were that bad. I asked Dr Ladue if there was anyway he could fill them he said he couldnt they are too bad and right in between her teeth and he Doesn’t think filling would help. He said i would probably have to pay 300$ for the hospital visit and my insurance should cover the rest but they may not cover cus shes almost 7 and they only cover the crowns before 6

The kids were nervous/fearful/kicking/screaming, but Dr. Ladue and his team were really welcoming and able to ease them into the dental setting, and keep them engaged throughout the visit. My daughter is more motivated to brush her teeth now. Thank you, Smilie’s!

First time going and excited for next visit. Everyone made us feel important by talking Thur the visit. My son is autistic and he enjoyed doing to dentist. He can stop talking about it. The doctor explained everything to our son that was age development. The doctor allowed our son touch the tools he was going used. The doctor explained each step.

I attempted to schedule two new patient appointments today and the receptionist on the phone made me aware they are booked out until November (which is completely okay). Unfortunately because one of my kids do not have insurance at the moment (due to insurance mess up on their end), the receptionist told me “I don’t want to hold spots up for other kids who have insurance” which should never be said instead she should have asked if I am willing to pay out of pocket if insurance issues are not resolved in that timely manner. I have no problem paying out of pocket, my kids need to see a dentist to make sure their teeth are healthy. It’s not ideal but whatever needs to happen. Unfortunately I felt very uncomfortable un-welcomed and like my kids are not important.

My daughter had her very first visit to a dentist about a week ago. The whole staff was amazing! I came across them while looking for a dentist with immediate openings when my child was in pain. They went above and beyond , even offered a list of places that may be able to help if they couldn’t. They put me on the cancellation call list and had her scheduled in a couple of days. I appreciate the empathy of the office staff during my time of need and the extent Dr. LaDue goes to make sure everyone is comfortable and understands what is going on. I read the reviews after scheduling and was so nervous. I thought she would leave with silver teeth lol . She was cavity free! This the place for my children!
